With mixed emotions, we announce the upcoming retirement of our Vice President of Programs, Brenda Kenney, effective March 30th, 2023. Brenda has been an integral part of our organization for over three decades, and we are incredibly grateful for her years of dedicated service.
Brenda first joined our organization as a volunteer in 1993, and after seven years of volunteering, she was hired as our Company Program Manager on January 27th, 2000. Over the years, Brenda worked her way up through the organization by becoming the Director of Programs and eventually the VP of Programs. She has directly impacted thousands of students across the province, especially in Southwest Nova Scotia, where her leadership has helped to create countless opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
One of Brenda’s greatest passions has always been our Company Program, and her love for it has been infectious. She has inspired countless young people to pursue their dreams and helped foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across our organization.
While we are saddened to see Brenda go, we are excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. We know her retirement will be filled with new adventures of travelling the world, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
Brenda leaves an incredible legacy here at JA Nova Scotia. Her unwavering dedication, passion, and commitment to empowering our youth for over three decades have touched the lives of countless young people, inspiring them to reach for their dreams and embrace their full potential. As she embarks on her new journey, we wish her all the best and express our deepest gratitude for the profound impact she has had on the lives of so many.” – Shakara Joseph, CEO, JA Nova Scotia.
